How to Become a Travel Ultrasound Technologist

The journey to becoming a travel sonographer typically begins with graduating from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program. Following graduation, aspiring travelers must obtain professional credentials—usually through the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).

Once you have secured your primary certification and gained at least 12 to 24 months of clinical experience in a hospital or imaging center, you can partner with Nomad to find assignments that align with your professional goals and personal lifestyle.
