YNHH is a 1,541-bed private, nonprofit teaching hospital that ranks among the premier medical centers in the nation. YNHH is regularly included among the Best Hospitals in the U.S. in the annual U.S. News & World Report rankings of specialty services. With two main campuses, Yale New Haven is the largest acute care provider in southern Connecticut and one of the Northeast's major referral centers. On September 12, 2012, Yale New Haven Hospital acquired the assets of the Hospital of Saint Raphael, located on Chapel Street in New Haven and now named Yale New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus.
