United Medical Centers is a TJC Accredited Community Health Center whose mission is to assure the availability and accessibility of basic primary and preventive health care services to all residents of the service area. At United Medical Centers, no one is turned away for the inability to pay. UMC is a federally qualified health center (FQHCs). FQHCs must serve an underserved area or population, offer a sliding fee scale, providing comprehensive primary care services, have an ongoing quality assurance program, and have a governing board of directors. Our service area encompasses Kinney, Maverick, and Val Verde counties, and is located in Southwest Texas on the U.S. Mexico border. United Medical Centers maintains nine service sites and offers Pediatric, OB/GYN, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Podiatry and Dental Services. In addition, our Centers offer in-house services such as Laboratory, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, Family Planning, and WIC.
