Canton-Potsdam Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital. Its core programs in emergency medicine, acute care, hospitalist medicine, and critical care are supplemented by outpatient health services in Brasher Falls, Canton, Colton, Gouverneur, Massena, Norfolk, and Potsdam, NY. Furthermore, specialty care is provided in over 40 different fields, including a robust orthopedic surgery and sports medicine program, and the Center for Cancer Care. Canton-Potsdam Hospital received Level III Trauma Center designation in 2018 and is currently the only center of its kind in St. Lawrence County. Level III Trauma Center designation means that CPH has met nationally recognized standards in providing care to the most critically injured patients, with monitoring of care, and processes in place to continuously improve the care provided.
