Riverside began serving the Virginia Peninsula community in 1916. In 1963 Riverside moved to the present 72-acre location in Newport News on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard. A 450-bed facility, Riverside Regional Medical Center is the Virginia Peninsula's most comprehensive medical facility combining the most recent computerized medical technology with a healing environment.
Our regional Cancer Care Center provides sophisticated treatment and care. In 2016, the Commission on Cancer (CoC) nationally recognizes our cancer program with an Outstanding Achievement Award after earning 7 of 7 commendation standards. With an Oncology Intensive Care Unit, a full continuum of experienced providers leading cancer care and a unique support structure for patients through integrative services, we provide expert care. This includes the latest treatments and genetic counseling, to integrative services--nutrition, massage, music and pet therapy and support. A Cancer Patient Navigator will be able to help in all phases of taking care of you--through diagnosis, treatment, support and remission.
