Sick or injured kids require special care. As a Children’s Hospital, we provide medical and surgical care for children—and only children. When your child is a patient here, he or she will be treated by specialists who have dedicated their careers to learning about the diseases of children and caring for children. Covenant Children’s is part of Covenant Health, which has served West Texas and eastern New Mexico for nearly 100 years. We are also the only licensed freestanding children's hospital in Lubbock and the surrounding area. Covenant Children’s has evolved and grown over the years. The facility that began as St. Mary’s Hospital was later renamed Covenant Medical Center – Lakeside, and as of 2018 was converted to the freestanding children's hospital - Covenant Children’s Hospital - that it is today.
