A 271-bed acute care facility, CHI St. Luke's Health-Memorial Lufkin offers a wide array of services, including the area's first dedicated heart and stroke care center; The Temple Cancer Center, which is accredited by the Commission on Cancer; and the area's most advanced imaging centers, The Temple Imaging Center and The Kurth Imaging Center. CHI St. Luke's Health-Memorial Lufkin is home to East Texas' largest emergency room, with 32 private patient rooms, dedicated imaging and laboratory departments, and a highly qualified staff of emergency physicians, nurse practitioners and registered trauma nurses. With board certified neurologists and neurosurgeons on staff, this is the area's only Joint Commission Certified Stroke Care Center in East Texas and a Primary Level II Stroke Facility in trauma service. Additionally, CHI St. Luke's Health-Memorial is a regional cardiovascular care center, as well as the highest accredited Chest Pain Center in the area. With designated cardiovascular surgical suites and catheterization labs, a convenient off-campus heart and vascular imaging center, and a board certified Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgeon on staff, Memorial remains the area leader in heart health. CHI St. Luke's Health-Memorial's 24-bed intensive care unit and 26-bed progressive care wing offer the latest in technology, patient safety and comfort. They are staffed by a highly qualified team of physicians and nurses who are consistently recognized nationally for excellence in patient care. Trained physical, occupational and speech therapists enhance the lives of adults and children at the comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation centers, and patients on the road to recovery from a cardiovascular event can benefit from the hospital's specialized Cardiac Rehabilitation Center. In 2017, the hospital system assumed operations at Lufkin's only hospital-based off campus ER, the CHI St. Luke's Health-Memorial Emergency Center.
