Bay Medical Sacred Heart currently operates as a 75-bed regional medical center and level 2 trauma center in Panama City, Florida. We are the only trauma center between Pensacola and Tallahassee and the only hospital to offer open heart surgery and other critical and complex heart procedures. In addition to the main campus ER, Bay Medical operates the Beach ER at 11111 Panama City Beach Parkway. Bay Medical Sacred Heart is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Prior to Hurricane Michael on October 10, 2018, Bay Medical operated 323 inpatient beds. While emergency services remained open during and after the storm, inpatient services were temporarily discontinued due to building damage. Upon the completion of essential repairs and inspections, Bay Medical re-opened it first phase of its return to servuce on January 2, 2019 with 60 medical-surgical beds, 15 intensive care rooms, eight operating suites, and five heart catheterization labs.
