Imaging Services & Radiology: Radiology is a branch of medicine that uses imaging technology to diagnose and treat disease. Radiology may be divided into two different areas, diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology. Ultrasound: Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. It is used to help diagnose the causes of pain, swelling and infection in the body and to examine a baby in pregnant women and the brain and hips in infants. Digital X-ray: Digital x-rays use much lower radiation than traditional x-rays and are read and stored in a computer so the data can be enhanced, magnified, or manipulated. CT Scan: A computed tomography (CT or CAT) scan allows doctors to see inside your body. It uses a combination of x-rays and a computer to create pictures of your organs, bones, and other tissues. Surgical Services: Surgical services require knowledge of and responsibility for the preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patients with a broad spectrum of diseases.
