Nurse safety is a priority at Nomad Health, and our goal is to enable you to treat patients in the fight against COVID-19 as safely as possible. To this end, we’re partnering with suppliers across the globe to provide our nurses with the equipment they need to stay safe while at the bedside.
As the COVID-19 situation in America continues to develop, we would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to every clinician working on the front lines, caring for patients every day.
Nomad understands the risk you're taking for your patients, as well as the concerns you have regarding PPE and testing supplies for your own safety. Our first priority is you—our nurses.

The Joint Commission recommends that clinicians be allowed to bring their own PPE to work. We further recommend that you check with your facility to confirm that you are allowed to use your own PPE while on assignment, but we will send you masks regardless.
What PPE will be provided? KN95 masks to help bolster the supply you receive from your facility.
When will masks be available? Shipments will begin by the end of April 2020, and will be coordinated by our Nomad Navigators.
Who will be eligible? All nurses who work an assignment with Nomad during PPE shortages.
How will I receive these masks? Nomad will ship the masks directly to your current location at the soonest available dates, once requested by the nurse.
What tests will be provided? We have partnered with Everlywell to send COVID-19 self-test kits. You can read more here.
When will tests be available? Test kits will be sent out starting April 17, 2020, and coordinated by our Nomad Navigators.
Will I need to request a test to receive one? Yes, you will need to request a test from Nomad. We will send you a test if you meet the CDC's testing criteria.
Who is eligible? All nurses currently not located in NY, NJ and RI (current laws state test kits cannot be used by nurses physically located in those states). If updates to these regulations occur, our test kit supplier will react accordingly.
How will I receive a test? Nomad will mail you a test directly to your current location once requested, free of cost.
What services are available? This program offers unlimited, confidential telephone consultation 24/7, telemedicine visits with a mental health provider, and 3 in-person visits with a mental health provider. Additionally, legal and financial coaching is available to help manage through these difficult times.
Who is eligible? All nurses who have opted to enroll in a medical plan offered by Nomad. All services are offered in partnership with United Healthcare.
What if I am not on Nomad's medical plan? Not to worry! All nurses have access to the Optum Public Crisis Line. This is a toll-free emotional support help line at 866-342-6892. It is available free of charge to anyone, not just members of UnitedHealthcare. This resource can be shared with family and friends. Caring professionals will connect people to resources. It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Who is eligible? Nurses who have potentially been exposed to COVID-19 while on assignment for Nomad and are asked by their facility to be quarantined. This is not applicable if a nurse is asked to self-quarantine due to personal travel.
What salary benefits are included? Nurses will be eligible for up to 14 days Guaranteed Hours as set forth in your Placement Agreement.
Does this include non-taxable stipend? Yes. Nurses will also be eligible for up to 14 days of non-taxable stipend as set forth in your Placement Agreement.
What insurance benefits are included? Nomad will pay full premium of 1 additional month of health benefits as needed.
Can these benefits be extended if needed? Yes. Nomad will evaluate on a case-by-case basis any further needs if the impact spans past 14 days.
Is sick-time caused by post-vaccination symptoms covered under this program? Sick time incurred because of post-vaccination symptoms is not covered under this program. In preparation for your vaccine appointment, we recommend that you work with the schedule coordinator at your facility to accommodate down-time after vaccination, in case you experience symptoms that will impede your ability to work.
