Job description

UPMC Altoona is seeking a Trauma Surgeon to join their growing practice of 4 surgeons.

• Annual trauma volume of 1,800+ patients

• Approx. 95% of trauma is blunt

• Practice case load: 65% trauma / 35% non-trauma

• Surgeons work four weeks on (12 hr shifts), two weeks off — working three weekends out of every six


UPMC Altoona Trauma & Acute Care Surgery provides trauma surgery services and acute care general surgery at UPMC Altoona: a 400 bed Regional hospital. UPMC Altoona’s trauma service area is comprised of 20 counties and a service area population over 1 million. UPMC Altoona is a PA Trauma Systems Foundation accredited level 2 trauma center. Altoona Trauma service includes 6 Physician Assistants.
