A full medical team on-site including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners/physician assistants, RNs, therapists, and addiction counselors
Responsible for the overall quality of care delivered to patients.
Leads the multidisciplinary treatment team and participates enthusiastically in treatment team meetings for his/her patients.
Performs psychiatric assessments
Provides ongoing management of patients and appropriately requests consultation when indicated. Provides psychiatric consultation when requested.
Assesses clinical appropriateness for admission and collaborates with the intake service regarding potential admissions
Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA standards.
Completes all documentation requirements legibly and within timeframes established by Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.
Ensures that medication management documentation complies with facility and regulatory standards.
Completes necessary documentation for all services provided to ensure quality care and compliance, and works collaboratively and proactively with Utilization Management
Complies with all Medical Staff Bylaws and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Complies with all facility policies and procedures. Maintains professional behavior at all times.
Shares on-call schedule as agreed upon. Responds to emergencies, admissions, and evaluations, as necessary.
Participates in performance improvement activities for the hospital.
Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school doctoral program and completion of residency in psychiatry required; board certification preferred.
Prior inpatient and/or outpatient experience in a behavioral healthcare setting practicing psychiatry and/or addiction medicine
Current unencumbered medical doctor (MD) or osteopathic doctor (DO) licensure.
Unrestricted DEA and State Controlled Substances registration
Understands and able to apply applicable standards and regulations (e.g. The Joint Commission, CMS, etc.) in his/her daily work.
