Join a Growing Psychiatry Practice in Manhattan

Job description The full-time psychiatrist will be responsible for evaluating new intakes and carrying a caseload of more complex cases as well as providing active care for patients seen by our nurse practitioners. As such clinical care will be a combination of new evaluations and a smaller group of follow-up visits. We provide treatment with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and our clinical staff is trained in evaluating and overseeing TMS treatment. We do not provide primary psychotherapy, but offer supportive therapy with medication appointments. Additional responsibilities include supervision of clinical staff and weekly clinical meetings, which may overlap, as well as being available during regular hours for as-needed consultation on difficult cases.

The full-time position includes protected time for clinical encounters as well as protected time for other tasks including coordinating with outside providers, completing chart-work, writing letters and reports, and any elements of work such as prior authorizations and help with referrals which cannot be done by our administrative staff. We maintain a growing list of in-network referrals for patients who require therapy or a higher level of care. This is potential for growth within this position as Neighborhood Psychiatry continues to expand at our current location and to other locations in the New York area.
