Psychiatry Unit Chief: 20 Bed In-Patient Unit at Stamford Hospital

Job description The Department of Psychiatry at Stamford Health is seeking an experienced full-time Adult Psychiatrist to provide high quality, patient-centered care to patients of the Psychiatry Service. The position requires assisting the Department Chair, Clinical Operations Director of Behavioral Health and the Nurse Manager in the discharge of Departmental duties. The Unit Chief will monitor the clinical activity of house Psychiatrists to assure quality care is given, and will supervise the staff Psychiatrists and APPs in the department. Shared call includes 24-hour in-house week-end coverage once a month, as well as 1 or 2 holidays a year.

Participation in the medical education of residents, medical students and physician assistant students is a component of the role. Other duties include the education, supervision and clinical guidance to staff on the in-patient unit and supporting departmental quality and performance improvement effort.

Candidate Requirements Connecticut In-person interview Requirements include graduation from an accredited medical school and training program in Psychiatry, plus a Connecticut medical license, CSR and DEA, and the ability to obtain hospital privileges prior to start.
