The Ophthalmology department for Signature Medical Group consisting of two M.D.’s and four O.D.’s is seeking a fellowship trained Medical Retina Specialist to join our established practice on the South Shore. Signature Medical Group (SMG) is one of the largest independent multi-specialty medical groups on the South Shore. They serve not only SMG patients but also those from all surrounding communities.

Signature Healthcare is a clinical affiliate of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on the South Shore. Brockton is located approximately 20 miles south of Boston. With such close proximity to our state’s capital, you can enjoy many attractions including sports, shopping, and entertaining that the metropolitan area has to offer.

We are currently seeking a full time Medical Retina Specialist who is a skilled physician, board-certified in Ophthalmology with fellowship training in medical retinopathy to join our vibrant practice. The medical retina specialist will be seeing retina and comprehensive patients as well as performing retina lasers and injections. Initially the projection is 50/50 for retina vs general patient care with rapid growth in the retina practice. Participation in general ophthalmology shared call duties 1 in 7 weeks with 7 or more other community doctors. Inpatient care is limited to general ophthalmology patients.
Full time position, 8-5 M-F, 4 clinical and 1 administrative day
Incoming provider will provide services at our 2 SMG Eye Department locations on 110 Liberty St. and 179 Quincy St. in Brockton
Diagnosis and consultations will include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular problems, and hereditary retinal disorders
Procedures will be office and hospital based and include intravitreal injections and retinal laser photocoagulation
MA State licensure needed
Ophthalmology board eligible or certified
Medical Retinal Fellowship (1 year)

Benefits $200,000 - $250,000 Upon hire, you may elect to defer tax-sheltered money into the 403(b) Retirement Plan with SMG. The 403(b) Plan allows you the opportunity to save for retirement with pre-tax dollars – that is, with money contributed from your paycheck before income taxes are withheld. The IRS maximum allowable deferral for calendar year 2015 is $18,000. If you are age 50 or older you may contribute an extra $6,000 as a “catch-up” contribution. You may become eligible for employer matching contributions upon completion of one year of service and 1,000 hours. Matching contributions are 50% of your elective deferral each pay period up to 4% of your eligible compensation. The maximum match per pay period is 2% of your eligible compensation. The investments are administered through Lincoln Financial Group’s Alliance program. SMG provides a CME Reimbursement up to $3,000 per calendar year for full time physicians (pro-rated for part-time physicians). CME is not a payable benefit if not used during the calendar year or prior to termination of employment.
