Job description Mercy Hospital of Buffalo in Western New York State is seeking a Neurohospitalist to work in their Joint Commission-accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center, which is one of the four New York State Designated Stroke Centers at Catholic Health. The position will involve coverage of general neurology, stroke neurology, non-operative intracranial hemorrhage and collaborative efforts in the care of perioperative neuroscience patients as requested by the neurosurgical staff.

• Provide general and stroke neurology inpatient care for neuroscience patients as requested
• Provide both ER and service coverage according to a mutually agreed upon schedule in advance.
• Participates in sharing of knowledge and expertise through in-services, staff meeting and assisting in Orientation of new personnel
• Physician will be expected to make daily neuroscience rounds as appropriate to service coverage
• Participate in Catholic Health System Department and Divisional activities as appropriate
• Participation on appropriate clinical committees
• Serves as the collaborating and supervising physician for the Neuroscience Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistants

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine
• Board certified or eligible in Neurology
• Fellowship trained in Vascular Neurology (Stroke)
• Candidate must have current, unrestricted, New York State license or NYS Licensure in progress and active on date of hire
• The candidate must have current, unrestricted federal, and as needed state, prescriptive authority
• CPR Certified
• ACLS Certified
