BC/BE Gastroenterologist Needed for Weekend Call Coverage in Pittsfield, MA

Job description Berkshire Health Systems is currently seeking an exceptional BC/BE (within 2 years of residency) Gastroenterologist for coverage starting on October 7, 2019 - January 31, 2020.

• This is a unique opportunity to join an established hospital based practice

• Participation in clinic hours for outpatient visits

• Follow up with in-patients at Berkshire Medical Center, BHS’s 302 bed community teaching hospital

• Collaboration with 4 Board Certified Fellowship Trained physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers

• 302-bed community teaching hospital with residency programs

• A major teaching affiliate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School and UNECOM

Additional Details:

• Shift(s) Description: 1 weekend of call per month

• Shift Type: 24Hour

• Weekend Requirements: 8am Friday - 8am Monday once a month

• Call Back (coming into facility)%: 30% chance of getting called in overnight

• Callback rate: $380/hr

• Phone consult %: 50% chance of phone consult overnight

• Average number of patients per day - Clinic: 10

• Average number of patients per day - Hospital: 10

• Number of Physicians in practice: 4

• Will other Gastroenterologists provide coverage during locums coverage dates? Yes

• Trauma Level: III

• Describe office ancillary staff (e.g., number of RN’s, LPN’s MA’s etc.): 4 LPNs; 3 MAs; 3 Administrative Staff

• Describe office equipment (specialized equipment, etc.): Fibroscan Ultrasound

• Processing time for privilege application: 4-8 Weeks

Procedures Required:

• Inpatient/Outpatient Gastroenterology

• Upper GI endoscopy with Biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeding, banding of varices

• Esophageal dilatation

• Small bowel biopsy

• Lower GI endoscopy

• Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

• Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyp


SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

• Inpatient and Outpatient GI experience - Required

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 2 years) - Required

• MA license - Required
