Director, Division of Gastroenterology at Stamford Health

Job description

The Director of the Division of Gastroenterology for Stamford Health oversees clinical staff, patient care and related activities for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, including digestive and liver diseases. The Director provides leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the care provided for patients in Stamford Hospital and at Stamford Health Medical Group sites, including the Tully Ambulatory Center. Responsibilities include education and teaching, peer review and credentialing, development of clinical protocols and other activities to assure safe, high quality patient care in all inpatient and ambulatory care activities.

The Director collaborates with the Chair of Medicine and the leadership of the Medical Group to fully develop and implement Gastroenterology programs, including expansion of services in relation to the needs of the community and Stamford Health. In keeping with the mission of Stamford Hospital and its designation as a Planetree hospital, the Division of Gastroenterology is committed to provide patient-centered care by personalizing, humanizing and demystifying the healthcare experience for patients and their families.

The Medical Director must be a member of the active medical staff, qualified by training, experience and ability for the position and board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Benefits $200,000 — $350,000
