Instructor or Higher (Family Medicine with OB)

Job description Position Description:

• Provides consultations and clinical services in outpatient and inpatient settings including obstetrics

• Maintains all applicable licenses, controlled substance registration, board certifications, hospital privileges, and third party payer enrollments in good standing

• Supervises residents and participates in teaching activities for medical students and/or residents

• Participate in research and/or scholarly activities

• Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned

• Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

• Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

• Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility


Minimum Qualifications:

• M.D. / D.O.

• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas

• Successful completion of ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency Program

• Must meet the practitioner recruitment requirements as set forth in the Anti-Kickback Statue and Stark Law


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and demonstrate interest in teaching students and residents

• Bilingual in English and Spanish

• Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills and experience for consideration of Departmental leadership appointment

• Demonstrated track record in research and peer-reviewed publications (for rank of Associate Professor or higher)

• Board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine, for the rank of Assistant Professor or higher

• Regionally or nationally recognized clinical expertise (for the rank of Associate Professor or higher)
